Meet Anna, Senior Stylist

What motivates or inspires you?

I’m deeply motivated by the incredible, hardworking team I have the privilege of working alongside every day. The dynamic energy we share is contagious—each one of us brings something unique to the table, and together we create a collaborative and inspiring environment. We constantly feed off each other’s creativity, passion, and drive, pushing each other to be our best. This exchange of ideas and experiences is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.

What are your strengths or unique qualities?

One of my strengths is customising hair colours that grow out seamlessly, tailored to each client’s needs. I take the time to understand their lifestyle and preferences to create a low-maintenance, beautiful result. While strong technical skills are important, I believe great communication is key. I focus on creating a welcoming, comfortable environment where clients feel at ease to share their vision. This allows me to deliver a result that not only meets but exceeds their expectations.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’m incredibly proud of the growth I’ve achieved over the past 9 years, both in my hairdressing career and in my personal life. I’m especially grateful to Nico, the owner of Studio N, who took me on as a second-year apprentice and played a key role in shaping the stylist I am today through tough love and incredible opportunities.

One of my proudest decisions was taking the leap to start freelancing at Something by Grace at Forrester's Beach. It’s been 3 years of working for myself, and I haven’t looked back since.

Last year marked some life-changing milestones, including the joyful news of expecting a baby with my partner, Jeremy. We also bought our first home together, which was an exciting step. Becoming a parent and experiencing the power of birth has been one of the most profound accomplishments of my life. I feel truly blessed to begin this year with our little girl, Evie, by our side.

What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work?

Work is such an important part of my life that I consider it a hobby in itself, especially because of the creative aspect. Outside of work, I make it a priority to focus on self-care. I love going to Pilates—it leaves me feeling energised and ready to take on the day, and the community there is amazing. I also enjoy catching up with friends over coffee, though these days, it might turn into a cheeky margarita from time to time.

How do you define success, and how do you strive to achieve it in your personal life?

To me, success is about finding true happiness and balance in all areas of life. Having experienced burnout firsthand, I know that it’s impossible to achieve anything meaningful if you're not genuinely happy or giving yourself the space to reset and recharge—both mentally and physically. Prioritising self-care and maintaining that balance is essential for long-term success, and I strive to ensure that I nurture both my well-being and my passions.
